You were never meant to do this alone....
Hello! I'm Meredith. Here's a little about me...
I'm a NYC-based, professional actor with over 20 years experience in The Biz. I've worked every performing job on a film and tv set from series regular to day player. I've also appeared on stages, on and off-broadway, as well as regionally.

In my early days, I spent several years as an audition reader and being on the other side of the table sparked a curiosity about what makes a "good" audition. Moreover, it demystified a process that had previously felt intimidating and overwhelming. Cut to the pandemic and I found myself a reader once again, this time for my friends and colleagues over zoom, looking to inject some life into their self-tapes. We all adjusted to the new rules of auditioning and figured out a way to make it work. And work it did! My friends got great feedback from their agents; they booked promising callbacks and big jobs. It was so exciting! I knew I was on to something. With that, I decided to offer my coaching services to the wider community.

I LOVE breaking down audition sides, getting into all the nooks and crannies to see what we can use. What's the tone? Why does this character exist in the story? What do we know for sure and how can we fill in the gaps? I believe in taking a practical, thorough, grounded, playful approach to the material. Above all, I believe in having fun and feeling good about the work we're putting out there. Regardless of whether or not we book the job, everything counts in the long game, so let's dig in and be brave together!

PREP
Whether you're getting ready for an in-person audition or you're trying to center yourself for yet another self-tape, chances are you could use a buddy. I'm here to help you shake off the nerves, dive into the material, and find some freedom as you figure out what makes your character tick. We can run lines, do some text analysis, talk about the "story" of your scene; anything that gets you from "oh no, I don't know what I'm doing" to "I've got this"! By the time we're done you'll feel loose, confident and ready to go.

I don't know about you but auditioning in the one corner of your bedroom that gets decent light, where you can actually hang a backdrop that won't fall down, and your tripod may tip over at any moment, and there's a siren outside, and now your dog is barking and gaahhhhh, what are my lines again????...is not a relaxing scenario. Of course it isn't. Add to that the mental gymnastics you put yourself through every time you have an audition, particularly when it's one that feels very important, or it's been a long time, or you're just starting out and you're not quite sure how it all works. It's no wonder self-tapes can feel like self-torture at times. I'm here to help you find your center and stop second guessing yourself. We need to stop trying to be perfect and start being alive in the scene. Together we will find the most grounded, vulnerable, rich version of your given character and craft an audition that is unique to you and only you. And we'll have fun doing it.

So you've booked a big job...Congratulations!!!... Now what?! Well, I'm here to help you get ready before you even step onto the set and throughout the process if you'd like. Everyone needs something different and together we will tailor-make a strategy so you can show up on day one as the most professional, prepared, confident version of yourself. You've worked so so hard for this moment. You deserve to enjoy it!

"Meredith is always my go-to when I have an audition. She is an extraordinary actor, so you are getting to read with one of the best around. My agent even once commented on how good Meredith was in one of my tapes! She is also incredibly skilled at text analysis, understanding tone,  and has lots of on camera/audition technique tips and tricks for when you get a last minute appointment and have little time to prepare. Most importantly, she helps you find your version of the role that feels specific, grounded and unique to you. I always feel proud of my work and so taken care of when I work with her." - Mallory Portnoy Netflix's Maestro, Oklahoma on Broadway
